Ali Fazal is one of an upcoming actor of Indian film industry. He made his screen debut with a small role in the English language film The Other End of the Line before appearing in the American television miniseries Bollywood Hero.
Ever-since Mirzapur 2 trailer is released, a certain section of people made #BoycottMirzapur2 trend on social media; the reason being Ali Fazal’s involvement in anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protests.
Now , in an interview with Times Now ,Ali responded to haters in the most responsible and his 3 thoughts will definitely impress all.
- Ali said that we are not at the mercy of a trend and he thinks a single trend can’t decide what people should watch or not. He said, “We have to decide what is the bar we are setting. Are we at the mercy of a trend? No! I don’t look at art in that way. Are we at the mercy of one app that decides who will watch our show and who will not?”
2. Ali also asked where these trends were when farmers were protesting across the country. He also questioned how people are now ignoring the severity of the pandemic we are facing. “No, I think this has really gone down. I mean if you are really talking about trends, I never saw any trends related to farmers – there have been protests everywhere across our country. But I wouldn’t say that it’s not an important story, it’s the most important story. The Pandemic suddenly has become the last story on everybody’s mind. It’s not trending anymore but it’s still supposed to be the biggest problem that we are facing. I hope the people rise above that,”
3. He also made a valid point by saying that they are trying to create something which can take Indian cinema to the level of international cinema and they don’t want to be bogged down by a few haters. He said, “We are trying to create something nice. We are trying to also level with international work that is out there on those very platforms. We don’t want to be regressed by certain factions of society.”
