Bollywood celebs Anubhav Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Richa Chadha and Sonam Kapoor lauded the Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan after she slammed the vilification of the film industry. She also slammed the comments made by Kangana Ranaut and Ravi Kishan against the film industry.
Sharing Jaya’s speech on Twitter, director Anubhav Sinha, wrote in Hindi, “Jayaji ko sadar pranam karta hoon. Jinko pata nahi wo dekh lein, Reed ki haddi aisee dikhti hai (I pay my respect to Jayaji. Those who do not know must watch this. This is what a spine looks like).”
Sharing his tweet, Richa wrote, “Mrs Jaya Bachchan started her career with legend Satyajit Ray and then went on to redefine Hindi cinema. Watch this to see the face of fearlessness. The ‘agents’ and khurchans participating in the deliberate vilification of Bollywood will self-destruct like bhasmasurs. #respect.”
Taapsee Pannu too shared the speech and wrote, “For we have always stood by the initiatives, causes and awareness campaigns. It’s time for payback. Hitting the nail on its head and how ! yet again a woman from the industry spoke up #Respect.”
Sonam Kapoor wrote, “I want to be her when I grow up..”
Tweeples starts trolling Sonam as she is the favorite of trollers ….
Jaya Bachchan spoke about an alleged ‘conspiracy to defame the film industry’ on the second day of the Monsoon Session in Parliament. She slammed those who have been defaming the entire film industry, amid the ongoing drug row.
Through a Zero Hour mention, Jaya demanded the government to provide protection and put a ban on the unending bashing being faced by members of the film industry. Without taking names, she said that she completely disagrees with those who called the entertainment industry a “gutter”.
She said, “People who have made a name in this industry have called it a gutter. I completely disagree and I really disassociate.”
Slamming Bhojpuri actor and BJP MP Ravi Kishan, who raised the issue of the drug menace in Bollywood and urged the government to take strict action against those involved in drug trafficking, Jaya Bachchan has said that she was “really embarrassed and ashamed”. She added, “Jis thali mein khate hai usme chhed karte hai. Galat baat hai.” The comment, broadly translated, is similar to “biting the hand that feeds you”.
“I think it is very very important that the government must support this industry and not kill it. Just because there are few people, you cannot tarnish the image of the entire industry,” she had continued.
