Tesla cars are a good example of what our future could look like. Tesla has become one of the most popular modern car brands in the world. These electric cars look great and can easily fit into the affordably-priced luxury car slab. But the sad thing is that it is not officially available in India.

However, there are certain Indians who own a Tesla. Here is a list of four famous Indians who own a Tesla car.

Mukesh Ambani – Tesla Model S 100D

The richest man in the country, Mukesh Ambani’s garage boasts of exotic and high-end luxury vehicles. From Rolls Royces to Bentleys to Mercede, Ambani owns it all. And last year, Tesla Model S 100D also made its way at the Ambani garage.

It is an extremely powerful set of wheels. The electric motors powering the vehicle generates a maximum of 423 PS of power and a massive 660 Nm. The power goes to all the wheels and it can do the 0-100 km/h dash in just 4.3 seconds. It can reach an electronically limited tops-speed of 250 km/h while it returns a maximum of 495 km on a single full charge.

Ritiesh Deshmukh – Tesla Model X

On his 40th birthday, the actor received a red Tesla Model X as a gift from his wife Genelia D’Souza. He is the only Bollywood star to own this beauty.

The red-coloured Tesla owned by Ritiesh got two electric motors and the output is 259 PS in the front and 503 PS at the rear. It is a seven-seater and is capable of going from 0-100 kms/ hour in 3.2 seconds. On a single charge, the Tesla Model X can cover a distance of about 475 kms. What sets the Model X apart from the others on Tesla’s roster is its ample storage space and those sexy falcon-wing doors.

Prashant Ruia – Tesla Model X

CEO of Essar conglomerate in India, Prashant Ruia became the first Indian to own a Tesla in India. Known as the fastest electric SUV in the world, the Model X was privately imported in 2017. It uses 2 electric motors – one driving the front wheels and the other driving the rear wheels. The combined power and torque outputs of these motors are around 750 Bhp and 967 Nm.

Pooja Batra – Tesla Model 3

Cost: ₹25 lakh to ₹40 lakh (in USA)

The former Miss India Asia Pacific and actress Pooja Batrs owns a Tesla Model 3 in the US. She bought the car while she has been living in Los Angeles, which excludes her from paying the heavy import duty, like the others on the list. 

The Model 3 is a four-door sedan and offers a range of 386 km/h on a single charge. It is very quick with a top speed of 200 km/h and can go 0-100 km/h in just 5 seconds. This car also offers a huge infotainment system as well as an auto-pilot and self-park mode.
