Now ,Yuvraj has issued clarification after facing the heat for ‘casteist remark’ for Yuzvendra Chahal. It all happened last month , when he took a hilarious dig at Chahal , while he was in conversation with the hit-man of the cricket squad Rohit Sharma on Instagram Live .
Yuvraj Singh made a light -hearted comment and used word ‘ Bhangi ‘ for his team mate chahal, referring to his TikTok video. But this put him in trouble and Yuvi would have never thought the same as both he and Rohit had laughed off the matter.
But earlier this week, hundreds of Twitter users slammed him for the comment and asked him to issue an apology. The users made the hashtag Yuvraj Singh Alopogise in Hindi one of the top trends. The hashtag #युवराज_सिंह_माफी_मांगो saw more than 30,000 tweets.
With the matter getting out of hand, Yuvraj Singh took to Twitter on Friday to issue a clarification. The World Cup-winner expressed his regrets over unintentionally hurting anybody’s sentiments or feelings.
“This is to clarify that I have never believed in any kind of disparity, be it on the basis of caste, colour, creed or gender. I have given and continue to spend my life for the welfare of people. I believe in the dignity of life and respect each individual without exception,” read the statement.
“I understand that while I was having a conversation with my friends, I was misunderstood, which was unwarranted. However, as a responsible India I want to say that if I have unintentionally hurt anybody’s sentiments or feelings, I would like to express regret for the same.
