1- Mary Kom
Mary Kom’s struggles and passion for boxing was portrayed by Priyanka Chopra on the big screen. The boxing champion was handed a cheque of ₹25 lakh for lending her life to the silver screen.
2- Milkha Singh
Farhan Akhtar portrayed the role of Milkha Singh in his biopic Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. Milkha Singh accepted only ₹1 for the translation of his lifestory on celluloid and this definitely shows his kindness.
3- Sachin Tendulkar
Sachin’s biopic which was titled Sachin: A Billion Dreams earned ₹17 crore in first two days of its release. Reportedly, Sachin charged ₹40 crores for lending his story to the makers. But according to the spokesperson of the documentary the news was incorrect and Sachin backed the project.
4- Mahendra Singh Dhoni
Sushant Singh Rajput garned a lot of appreciation for his role as MS Dhoni in his biopic MS Dhoni: An Untold Story. Even Dhoni himself appreciated Sushant for his acting. Reportedly, Dhoni took ₹80 crores for revelation of his life story.
5- Mahavir Singh Phogat
Aamir Khan’s movie Dangal was inspired by the life story of Mahavir Singh Phogat. The movie went on to break many records on the box office. Reportedly, Mahavir was given ₹80 lakhs by the makers of the movie.
6- Paan Singh Tomar
Paan Singh Tomar, portrayed by Irrfan Khan received an average response from the audience. The makers paid an amount of ₹15 lakhs to his family.
7- Mohammad Azharuddin
Emraan Hashmi starrer, Azhar was not a great success but people had huge expectation from it. It’s quite surprising that the cricketer didn’t charged a single penny for the same.
8- Sanjay Dutt
Sanjay Dutt’s biopic Sanju, starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role went on to become a blockbuster. The movie broke many records and was appreciated by audience as well as critics. Reportedly, Sanjay Dutt was paid ₹9-10 crore plus a portion in the profit.
