Former Pakistani skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed has been at the receiving end on numerous occasions after he was seen yawning and had become a subject of hilarious memes on social media. Recently, Ahmed was trolled for being the only cricketer to yawn in all three formats of the game.
It all started after he was seen yawning on the field during the high-octane World Cup 2019 clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan. He had yawned a couple of times during the backend of the Indian innings and his captaincy was severely criticized during the marquee event.
With a T20I series whitewash at the hands of Sri Lanka last October, Sarfaraz was not only sacked as captain but also lost his place across formats. Since then, Sarfaraz was out of action and worked on his form and fitness to stage a comeback during Pakistan’s month-long tour of England.
The former captain failed to get a long rope in the tour and returned back after featuring in only a solitary game, i.e. the third and final T20I of the series. Even in that match, he was trolled for missing a simple stumping chance where he gave a reprieve to Moeen Ali.
Recently on September 2, Sarfaraz Ahmed replied to his haters. He tweeted, “Main itna bhi bura nahi hu, jitna log bata rahe hai.”
However, recently during Australia’s 1st T20I vs England, Steve Smith unknowingly ended up imitating Sarfaraz Ahmed when he was seen yawning inside the dressing room. An image of Smith yawning went viral and has been making the rounds on social media platforms.
Thus, on seeing the viral images of Smith, Sarfaraz’s wife Khushbakht Sarfaraz responded to the former Australian skipper’s picture on Twitter.
Sharing the picture, she wrote, “Legends be like.”
