Actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise has left everyone in shock. He decided to end his life by hanging at such a young age of 34. Reportedly, he is said to be suffering from depression from the last six months. Though the reason was still unclear, the whole nation has been indicting nepotism for the death of this extremely talented actor.
The blame game has started once again and the heated debate around nepotism is for all to see. There were some reports that suggested that the actor was banned by some big production houses as well as producers such as Karan Johar, Aditya Chopra, Salman Khan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali to name a few. Some old clips are also going viral in which A-listers or the star kids are seen making fun of Sushant in a talk show or at other events.
Netizens are quite outraged with the bigwigs of the industry and demanding the boycott of their movies to teach them a lesson. Some people have also started an online petition requesting others to boycott movies of the more popular clans in the film industry.
A campaign has been started on change.org in which people have to sign a petition for boycotting the movies of KJO, SKF and YRF. Earlier the target of 3 lakh signatures was kept, later it was increased to 5 lakhs and then to 10 lakh and then 15 lakh. As of now the count of signatures has crossed 15 lakh and the target has been renewed at 30 lakh. Now It has been renewed to 45 Lakh
The petition was started by Jay Shree Sarma Srikanth who is a Bollywood choreographer, Artistic director and an RJ by profession. She is basically from Kenya but lives in Princeton, New Jersey. The count of signatures is increasing very fast as more than 12.50 lakh people have signed the petition in just 32 hours. For the unversed, the petition was started at 6:47 am on 16th June. Till now more than 30 Lakh people have signed the petition.
Jay Shree has also taken to Facebook and asked her friends and followers to sign the petition and get 2 Million signatures so that such type of incidents are not repeated again.
Besides this, people of Patna from where Sushant Singh Rajput belonged have burnt effigies of bigwigs like Karan Johar and Salman Khan. In fact, they have also taken a pledge that they would not allow their movies release in the city.
