It’s been a past event now, when NASA posted for the job opening for “Planetary Protection Officer,” . In-turn , it received numerous job applications and one of which caught the attention of the dignitaries of space agency . The application was of , a 9 YO child , Jack Davis and his application is much adorable and worth reading.

It reads :” My Name is Jack Davis and I would like to apply for the planetory protection officer job.” Next he writes , “I am 9 but I think I would be fit for the job. I have seen almost all the space and alien movies I can see,” Jack explained in his letter. “I’m great at video games. I am young, so I can learn to think like an Alien.”

Have a look at his application:

Jack’s letter went viral after a family friend posted on social media and when it eventually reached the space agency, NASA’s director of planetary science division himself engineered a perfect response for Jack on the micro blogging site twitter. He writes : “It’s about protecting Earth from tiny microbes when we bring back samples from the Moon, asteroids and Mars. It’s also about protecting other planets and moons from our germs as we responsibly explore the Solar System.”

NASA encouraged Jack and others to study hard and to one day become the real “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

It’s been wonderful that a 9 YO can think at that level and actually wants to apply for the job . Behind his creative mind , there is a lot of curiosity but Davis will have to wait a few years before he can work at NASA. The Liberty Science Center in New Jersey has invited him to be the official kid science advisor at the Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium.
