With Chak De India!, Shah Rukh was seen in a completely different light as he played the role of a retired hockey player turned coach with the aim of talking the India’s women hockey team back to glory. The ‘Sattar Minute’ monologue by SRK just before the last match between the Indian and Australian hockey team is considered to be one of the best monologues ever produced. The monologue in the last scene where Alia Bhatt cries in despair and begs to be sent back home is heart wrenching and powerful. 4- Kartik Aaryan in Pyaar Ka Punchnama series
These monologues are a little different from others in the list due to the humour that comes with them, however, their popularity amongst fans exists even today. Despite its comic nature, Kartik Aaryan’s monologues in Pyaar Ka Punchanama series are probably one of the most popular scenes amongst films in recent years. Kartik’s plays the part of the frustrated boyfriend to the tee and makes the dramatic monologues more relatable to the audience.
5- Sridevi in English
English Vinglish is one of the most heartwarming and purest films to come out of Bollywood. In the film, Sridevi played a simple Indian housewife, Shashi who always was put down for not being able to speak English well. However, in the end, Shashi delivers a beautiful speech in English, which makes her family realize that there is more to a person than their fluency of the English language. The speech is particularly lovely because the wisdom she shares about life, marriage and family comes from her heart.
