2020 has been a strange year. With the worldwide outbreak of the coronavirus, life as we know it had come to a standstill. The year’s movie blockbusters that should have been out by now got swept aside in a cascade of postponements and cancellations. However, filmmakers are now looking ahead and planning releases for 2021.
We’ve rounded up the new 2021 movie release dates to give you something to look forward to.
Akshay Kumar’s Bell Bottom, which will star Vaani Kapoor in the lead alongside Huma Qureshi and Lara Datta, is all set to release on April 2, 2021. Produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh and helmed by Ranjit M Tewari, the film is inspired by plane hijacks in the 80s that affected our country.
Ajay Devgn sports drama Maidaan, which will mark Keerthy Suresh’s debut in Bollywood has been shifted from its earlier December 2020 release and will now hit theatres on August 13, 2021. Directed by Amit Sharma, the movie is inspired by the life of Syed Abdul Rahim, the Indian national football team coach and manager. The film also stars Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and Rudranil Ghosh in prominent roles.
Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai
The most awaited movie has Salman Khan and Disha Patani in main roles. Probably a Diwali release, the movie will have a lot of masala and entertainment to make you drool over the film. Currently, the last leg of the filming is being completed to be ready in time for a theatrical launch. Directed by Prabhudheva and produced by Sohail Khan and Reel Life Production Pvt Limited, the movie also features Randeep Hooda and Jackie Shroff in key roles.
Laal Singh Chaddha
Aamir Khan’s upcoming movie Laal Singh Chaddha is another film to look forward to. Starring opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan, the film is directed by Advait Chandan. The film is loosely based on a classic film Forrest Gump. The film follows the story of a man with low intellect and how the history of India unfolds through his perspective. It has been slated for December 2021.
Another Akshay Kumar starrer movie, Rakshabandhan is all set to release on November 5, 2021. Directed by Aanand L Rai, the film fittingly celebrates the warmth and love of a brother-sister bond. In an emotional statement, Akshay had revealed that the story had touched his heart, deeply and instantly.
