One of the ace actor Divyendu Sharma hails from Delhi. The 37YO has portrayed many unique characters in the later stages of his career . Divyendu has 3 years of theatre experience in Delhi after which he pursued a two-year diploma in acting from FTII, Pune. He was previously seen in a number of ads for brands like Virgin Mobile, Birla Sun Life and Fidelity Mutual Funds. He debuted with Luv Ranjan’s Pyaar Ka Punchnama , with other leads Kartik Aaryan and Raayo S .
Now with the Amazon Prime show Mirzapur , Divyendu has just nailed it with the character of Munna Tripathi. With all his acting and talent ,Divyendu has demonstrated that he is a skilled actor. He has given brilliant performance as well in season 2 of Mirzapur. His Upcoming project is ‘Bicchoo Ka Khel’ which will be released on Alt Balaji.

Divyendu was an average student and never be an ambitious one. He scored 49% in class 10th and that caused him to pick Arts and science as his subjects for the following two years. He scored 84% in 12th which was much more than expected for him. He later finished his graduation in Political science from Delhi University’s Kirori Mal College.
In an interview, Divyendu recalled that as a kid he was fascinated by the idea of acting. He said that he was very active in plays, cultural functions, and extracurricular actives.
Divyendu used to mimic actors for fun. However , it was his sister , who supported him for serious acting and opt it as a career. That’s how , he pursued a diploma in acting from FTII, Pune .Later , he did some ad campaigns as well.
He started to prepare for his career by being a part of a theatre group called “Players”. Divyendu did many plays with them before giving a film audition.
Like any other struggling actor , Divyendu also saw those days with less money and more dreams . Mirzapur actor said that he faced a lot of rejection initially. He also added that he used to spend Rs 32 per day for eating to manage his budget.
6. Before debut
Before his career’s inception in Bollywood, he appeared in Madhuri Dixit’s comeback film Aaja Nachle. He wasn’t given any attention for his role in the film. However, things changed when he appeared as Nishant, a frustrated lover, in Pyaar Ka Punchnama.
Divyendu made his debut in Bollywood with Luv Ranjan’s Pyaar Ka Punchnama as Liquid. His character was loved by the audiences and even after almost a decade, his character continue to make people laugh. In an interview, Divyendu even said that fans still call him Liquid over Munna from Mirzapur.
Divyendu’s career graph was on a rise after his role as liquid . His performances includes : Chashme Baddoor (2013), Ekees Toppon Ki Salaami (2014), Dilliwali Zaalim Girlfriend (2015), Assi Nabbe Poore Sau (2016), Toilet: Ek Prem Katha (2017), Batti Gul Meter Chalu in 2018.

Soon after this, his performance impressed Mirzapur creators as in 2018 he was seen performing next to Pankaj Tripathi in the Amazon Prime Series. He appeared in Zee5’s original movie Badnaam Gali and a series called Fatafat and the movie. Last year, he also appeared in Hotstar VIP’s Kanpuriye. All the shows were delightful and his performance was impressive.
Divyendu also quoted that his filmography is proof that he experiments with his roles . In an interview with times now, he said, “I am getting to play different characters, different stories. I never wanted to stick to one genre of films, because, after Pyaar Ka Punchnama and Chashme Baddoor, I could exploit this genre and zone of acting, but since the start, I was very aware of the fact that I have to play different roles and I want to be known for my versatility and people are giving me different characters, so I have nothing to complain.”
