Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag is popularly known as one of the most destructive batsmen of all time. Sehwag played as a right-handed opening batsman and also bowled part-time right-arm off-spin. He played his first One Day International in 1999 and joined the Indian test side in 2001 .

1. Difference between Sehwag and Tendulkar:
When Virender Sehwag was asked the difference between him and Sachin Tendulkar, he came up with a cracking reply. He said: “Our bank balance”.
2. Virender Sehwag vs Geoffery Boycott:
Geoffery Boycott once said that though Virender Sehwag is the most talented batsman he has seen but he is also brainless with his batting. When Sehwag was asked to comment on the same, he said: “Boycott can say what he wants. He once batted the whole day and hit just one four.”
3. Virender Sehwag vs Michael Clarke:
Michael Clarke was nicknamed ‘Pup’ by his teammates. So, once during the 2004 Test in Hyderabad, when Michael Clarke was sledging Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag came to his rescue and asked Clarke: “Your teammates call you Pup, right?“, to which Clarke replied, “Ya mate”. Virender Sehwag then asked: “Which breed?”
4. When Virender Sehwag hits a six during the Multan Test:
During the Multan Test in 2004, when Virender Sehwag was on 295, when Sachin Tendulkar went up to him and suggested that he shouldn’t hit a six. Sachin had said: “Tu six nahi marega” . To which, Sehwag said: “Saqlain Mushtaq bowl karne aaya toh main six jaroor maroonga.”
5. Sehwag on Vinoo Mankad:
It was during 2006, when Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid were en route to breaking Vinoo Mankad’s highest opening partnership of 413. Ahead of the match against Pakistan, the reporter told Virender Sehwag that he and Rahul Dravid could break his record, to which, Sehwag said: “Who is Vinoo Mankad?”
6. When Virender Sehwag used a plan to handle Abdul Razzaq:
During a match in 2003, when Sehwag was representing Leicestershire, he and Jeremy Snape were facing trouble in facing Abdul Razzaq. However, Sehwag came up with a brilliant plan to handle him. He walked up to Snape and said: “We must lose this ball. I have a plan.”
Sehwag then smashed the next delivery with a huge six and returned back to Snape and said: “We are alright for one hour now.”
7. When he was dismissed on 195:
During the 2003 Melbourne Test, when Virender Sehwag was on 195 runs, he was caught on the boundary. He was trying to hit a six but later when Dravid went upto him and said:“You were just five singles away from a double century, you could have made it.” nTo this Sehwag said: “I just missed the six by just three yards”
8. Virender Sehwag on not hitting the bowler:
Virender Sehwag is regarded as one of the most destructive batsmen in the cricket world. He used to give nightmares to the bowlers. Once a reporter asked him how he hit such fast bowlers on the boundary repeatedly. Answering which he trolled the reporter with a funny reply. He said: “I don’t hit the bowler, I hit the ball”.

Virender Sehwag, during his glorious career, was criticized a lot for his sloppy footwork. So, when a reporter asked him about his ‘sloppy footwork’, he came up with a hilarious reply. He said: “They don’t know I used to throw 10 buckets of water on flat pitches, just to practice that shot.”
10. Sehwag on being dropped from team India:
When Sehwag was excluded from team India, a journalist had asked him: “You may never play for India again!” to which Sehwag replied, “Well, whose loss is that?”
